How to Setup Internal Assets for Pre-Start Logging (Scheduler Setup)

To enable Technicians to perform Pre-Start Tests on Equipment/Plants/Units, Schedulers must first configure Internal Assets in the system. This article walks you through the step-by-step setup process in FieldInsight.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Go to Settings

  • Click the cog icon in the top-right corner of the FieldInsight web page.

  • From the dropdown menu, select Settings.

Step 2: Navigate to System Fields

  • In the Assets & Tests section > under Assets > select System Fields.

    • In the Asset – Scheduler section, search for the "Internal" field.

    • Tick the Visible box to enable it for Schedulers.

Step 3: Open the Assets Menu

  • From the left-hand side menu, expand the Assets section.

  • Click on Assets again in the submenu.

Step 4: Find and Open an Asset

  • Use the search bar to find the Equipment, Plant, or Unit you want to mark as internal.

  • Click on the Asset ID to open the asset’s profile.

Step 5: Mark the Asset as Internal

  • Scroll to the bottom of the asset form.

  • Tick the Internal checkbox.

  • Click Save to update the asset record.

Final Validation

Once saved, you can filter the Asset List using "Internal Assets".
