How to Configure Technician Activity Buttons

This article will walk you through each step of configuring the buttons that show up in Tech/Mobile View.

You can configure the activity buttons that appear in the upper-right corner of the mobile in FieldInsight's Technician/Mobile View.

Step 1

Log in to your FieldInsight using a scheduler account.

Step 2

Once Technician Activ is clicked, you will be navigated to this page where you can configure the Technician Activities of the selected workflow.

Buttons are used as follows:

  • Start Travel Button - button to click when a tech is traveling to the customer sit.

  • Finish Travel Button - button to click when a tech arrived on the sit.

  • Start Job Button - button to click when a tech starts working on the job.

  • Finish Job & Start Travel - button to click when a tech finishes the job and then records the time spent traveling from site to the office.

  • Finish Job Button - button to click when a tech finishes the job.

Recommended Configuration are:

Start Travel Button + Finish Travel Button + Start Job Button + Finish Job Button

Start Travel Button + Finish Travel Button + Start Job Button + Finish Job & Start Travel.

Start Job Button + Finish Job Button


Step 4

Additional Config for Start Travel and Start Job Buttons:

This is an additional configuration for the Start Travel and Start Job Buttons. To set whether or not to show the START TRAVEL and START JOB at the same time, simply tick or untick the checkbox.

Click on the Settings Icon and go to the tab Timesheets

Step 5 Click Save when you are done.
