Add coverage to quantity ratio for items

Open Inventory - product items from the main menu. Click on an item to edit or add a new item using the Add button

Add/update manufacturer, name and description as usual

Set the coverage to quantity ratio

This is how much one item covers, for example this is for a 100m roll of cable, so 1 item cover 100m.

Select the unit of measure, if you can't see the unit in the dropdown, click on the edit link to add it

Add items by cover on a job

When adding this item to a job , Quote or invoice you can set the coverage to automatically calculate the quantity. The Coverage to quantity calculation is

Coverage / Ratio = Quantity
โ€‹
The quantity is always rounded UP to the nearest whole number, for example 11 would be rounded up to 20

Add the coverage in the coverage field. This will immediate calculate the quantity needed, rounding up to whole numbers

You can also change the quantity to update the coverage

Mobile

Click on the more link to see/edit the coverage for an item on mobile

Coverage on Packages

If you have items that are bundled together you can also add coverage to packages

Add the coverage ratio to your package

For example, here I'm adding a package for a 2.5m fence, so the ratio is 2.5 m as one package will cover 2.5m

Add the items for the package

To set up 2.5m of fence I need 1 fence panel, 1 block and 2 clips, and I also want to add labour, which I change out at $10 per panel.

Add coverage to calculate the quantity

Add the package to a job and enter the Coverage, for example 250, this will automatically calculate the quantity needed - rounding up to the nearest whole number

Show coverage on Sales documents

Edit the template to show the coverage column for inventory in Settings - templates

In the inventory table settings, click on Show Coverage

This will show the coverage column in the inventory table on your PDF
