Where to configure the custom template?
Go to the relevant Asset Test Template, then find the Report template type field.
Set the Report template type to: Custom
Once selected, you can add your custom layout in the Report template textarea.
The Custom Report Template field supports HTML, allowing you to create and format a custom layout for how the asset test result appears when included in a report.
When the custom report template is used
The custom report template is used when the test result is included in a report through the Reports module.
For example, if a job includes asset tests, and those associated tests are using a Test Template where Report Template Type is set to Custom, the configured custom layout will be used when the report is generated and sent to the customer.

In this workflow, the asset test result is pulled into the report, and the custom layout configured on the Test Template is applied.
Important note about Download to PDF
The custom report template configured on the Asset Test Template does not currently apply when using Download to PDF directly from the test result.
For example, if you go to: Job > Assets > Test Results > Download to PDF
The downloaded PDF will currently use FieldInsight’s generic/default test result PDF layout.
This means the standalone Download to PDF option does not currently use the custom report template configured on the test.
